Lumina Foundation for Education
Lumina Foundation for Education, an Indianapolis-based, private, independent foundation, strives to help people achieve their potential by expanding access and success in education beyond high school.
Through grants for research, innovation, communication, and evaluation, as well as policy education and leadership development, Lumina Foundation addresses issues that affect access and educational attainment among all students, particularly underserved student groups, including adult learners.
The Foundation bases its mission on the belief that postsecondary education remains one of the most beneficial investments that individuals can make in themselves and that society can make in its people.

Des Moines GEAR UP
Gaining Early Awareness & Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) is a national initiative to encourage more young people to have high expectations, stay in school, study hard and take the right courses to go to college. We believe that postsecondary education is possible for all Des Moines students, regardless of economic background, and strive to empower youth to realize this ambition. GEAR UP brings this message to middle and high schools, students, their parents, and the community through early college and career awareness activities, scholarships and financial aid information and improved academic support to raise the expectations and achievement of all.

The Iowa Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators is a dynamic organization serving practitioners, users, and providers of student financial aid programs serving individuals who seek postsecondary educations, while fostering and promoting sound statements of financial aid.

Iowa College Access Network
The Iowa College Access Network (ICAN) is the College Access Network for Iowa as designated by the National College Access Network (NCAN). ICAN's goal is to help students achieve their educational goals. ICAN does this by providing free information and support through school presentations, materials and information, an informative Web site, and two College Planning Centers. The ICAN College Planning Centers are located in Cedar Rapids and West Des Moines. All ICAN services are free and available in Spanish.

Iowa College Student Aid Commission
The Iowa College Student Aid Commission has over 40 years of experience connecting students and families with the essential information and services to make college possible. The Commission is a state agency that advocates for Iowa students and administers scholarships, grants, loans, and related programs to help students finance education expenses at colleges and universities of their choice.

Iowa Department of Education
The Iowa Department of Education (the Department) works with the Iowa State Board of Education (State Board) to provide oversight, supervision, and support for the state education system that includes public elementary and secondary schools, nonpublic schools that receive state accreditation, area education agencies (AEAs), community colleges, and teacher preparation programs.

Iowa Dollars for Scholars
Dollars for Scholars, a program of Scholarship America, is a national network of community-based, volunteer-operated scholarship foundation in cities, towns and neighborhoods throughout the United States. Scholarship dollars are raised locally by Dollars for Scholars chapters and awarded to local college-bound students. Our mission in Iowa is: To mobilize Iowa through scholarships and educational support to make postsecondary education possible for all students. IOWA TRIO: Educational Talent Search
TRIO Educational Talent Search (ETS), funded by the US Department of Education, serves middle and high school students. The goal of ETS is to increase the likelihood that participants graduate from high school and enroll in college. Students receive academic, financial aid and personal counseling through monthly school visits. Two-thirds of students served must qualify as first-generation college-bound (neither parent has received a Bachelor's degree) and by income guidelines established by US Department of Education.

IOWA TRIO: Upward Bound
TRIO Upward Bound (UB) is a college preparatory program for high school students funded by the US Department of Education. The goal of UB is to increase college enrollment and graduation rates. UB provides academic support through tutoring during the school year and a summer residential component on a college campus. Two-thirds of students served must qualify as first-generation college-bound (neither parent has received a Bachelor's degree) and by income guidelines established by US Department of Education. There are 15 UB programs serving 900 high school students in 80 school districts.
